What Happened to the Roman Republic?

Mark O'Mara: How is it that the this individual, great man or great human beinga takes the reins of the historical forces and effects this change? He says from a world historical perspective, events were playing out the way they needed to play out in order for the next stage of evolution to happen. And caesar happened to be the guy who made it happen. But history just seems to be filled with so many accidents that and near misses and things like that that changed the course.
