Post-colonial studies is an area of academic study that looks at responses to empire and imperial realities. It's a way for some people to articulate now what does the Bible mean in the context of colonialism, in thecontext of imperialism? How can it be read? What are the ways in which to read against it, to read with it? And does it help looking at say the experiences of people from the ancient world who were colonized? Does it give insight to people who have been colonized in the modern world?
