The current paradigm of machine learning and deep learning systems are based around learning vector representations of everything that exists in sort of a math space. And this is in contrast to the previous generation of AI technologies that were focused on what you might call them symbolic AI, which is where you set out a bunch of heuristics based equations effectively they call them symbols or relations between symbolsto try to describe the entire world. It would be funny if it was an AI like no I'm an AI like I don't want a lawyer but we're still dealing with stuff that it's being given it these inputs there are all from the generative past.
