Critical Voice for Black Women
Papova cites the work of black feminist theorist patricia hill collins, who argues that controlling images are used as tools of oppression. Critical voice is something that is done within communities and requires paying attention not just to our own experiences, but also the experiences of others. Discursive resistance is about making the unthinkable thinkable and the unnaeable nameable, the unsalable sayable. Only can do these things can we actually meaningfully act and fight for the material change in the world.
