Corsica: A Memoir of Napoleon's Childhood

Napoleon spent 13 months on Corsica, eight months longer than his original five-month leave. He wrote several letters back to army headquarters in Paris requesting extensions on his leave. Napoleon read the Compt De Mirabau, a dissident nobleman who would go on to become a leading political figure in the early phases of the revolution.
