William's Hired a Witch

The hiring of a witch is recorded in both the Lieber Eleonsis and the Gesta. Even if this story isn't true, we're looking at a story that was circulating in the 12th and 13th centuries. If it really did come from Leo Fridge, it was also circulating while William was still ruling. It gives us a fascinating view into the culture of the period and how he was viewed.
