The Effect of Deposit Rates on Bank Margins
JP Morgan has a few hundred billion dollars of sitting in cash in the Fed. The interest on that is going to go up one to one with every Fed hike. It does take a while for these things to kick in, and it does depend upon banks' ability to keep financing costs low. Nowadays, pretty much all of the banks are asset sensitive. Their rates rising is mostly a benefit to them since it increases the rates on their assets.
