The Rarity of Justice's Testimony
Sen. Dick Durbin says Chief Justice John Roberts declined to testify at a Senate committee hearing on the Affordable Care Act. He said it's disingenuous of Roberts to pretend that this situation is just like any other case where a Supreme Court Chief Justice could be called upon to testify. "This is, you know, in many ways a crisis in the judiciary," he added.
