Lawrence and the Ottomans

Lawrence argued that the guerilla strategy had compelled the ottomans to stay on the defensive in the hijaz. The arabs did not constitute a s rous threat compared with the presence of a large british army in palestine. This shows that subsequent attempts to follow lawrence's maxims to the letter are erroneous. It certainly calls into question lawrence's claims about the impun ity of the gorilla.
