Is an Agent Necessary?
If you are wanting to run a crowdsourcing campaign for your book, you do not need a literary agency agent or agency behind you. If you want to be published by one of the larger trade publishers, Penguin Random House, Diamond Shuster, Scholastic, most of them are not open to un-agented submissions anymore. And then what I would say is that we hope to be a career partner for our creators and helping them with looking at the long tail of their work.
