How Do You Flush Characters Out?

Every character, including supporting characters, i try my best to make them three dimensional, to flesh them out as much as possible. A and i think that's where people get the empathy thing from. And also, i fall in love with all my characters, quite honestly. And i like to flush them out, even while we're in production. So for example, brielrod, who played lexi in the movie, if you look at the original script, she was flushed out.
