In chapter three you have a section entitled Life Under Men Sex Work in the Social Estate. You talk about how actually she felt that socialism was emancipating for her so could you talk about her story and how it fits into your analysis? Pepe was a prostitute she was a beautiful woman and her story was recounted and recorded by another female journalist at the time. She described her father as a cold and violent man who abused her and her mother. All of this pushed Pepe into sex work but in a very particular way. Through sex work Pepe felt that she can take power and control over her life and body promising herself to never ever depend on men again.
