The Importance of Hope in Prison

Richard Beck, who he had self identifies as a progressive Christian. He's been taught from leading a Bible study at a maximum security prison every week. Lament has its use. It helps a privileged church resist becoming triumpholistic. But out at the prison and among the poor, I've learned that hope is the more needed message. Despair doesn't need any more attention. What is needed is a move from desolation to hope.
