The Effects of Overeating on the Body

Intermittent fasting is how we harness our metabolism to burn extra fuel. The body uses some of it in the blood to just power your regular cells. When we overeat, we actually can really, really blow up our fuel tanks. And that's why if you get eight hours of sleep, for example, let yourself sleep from 11 to 11:30 a.m., and then eat again at 12 p.m.; or when you're not sleeping, don't stop eating until 4 p.m.: That's what intermittent fasting does.
