My father's mission to promote interracial marriage in Chicago was very, very much influenced by my parents. By the time I went to college, I was affirmatively hiding the fact that my father was white. And as you know, I wrote a book about countering the biological concept of race and highlight the fact that black people embrace people as black despite what their exact ethnic background is.
