The Role of Arterial Lines in Blood Pressure Monitoring
An arterial line is indicated any time one expects moment-to-moment blood pressure changes. This would include patients who have severe cardiac or pulmonary disease, for example. Another indication could be more so that it's just necessary to be able to rapidly detect these hemodynamic changes.
