The Connections I've Had With My Teachers Growing Up
"I grew up in like the Bay Area for my whole life. And it's a very Asian American spot, but the number of Asian American teachers that I had was still so low," she says. "For some reason, just like being in her class made me feel comfortable." She recalls how one teacher broached topics such as what language do you speak at home? It even trickled down to college with an Asian American professor who helped her learn linear algebra.
