The South African Communist Party and the ANC developed a two-stage theory of revolution. The idea being that first you organized a target apartheid, then once apartheid is overthrown, you consolidate what's called in their terminology a national democratic revolution. All these folks have in common, whether they're Trotskyists, Marxist Leninists or Black consciousness advocates, all of these various groups are challenging this two-stage formulation.
