Dolan and Esmeth - The Girl I Knew Something

Mickey Dolan suggested that it would be a reasonable compromise to put out a single with one of the pre-recorded backing tracks on one side. The girl I knew somewhere had an Esmeth singing lead vocals, and up to that point, every monkey's single had featured Dolan's on lead on both sides. A vocal session was arranged in New York for Dolan's and Jones to come and cut some vocal tracks before they flew over to the UK. An in-depth article on the group in the Saturday evening paper quoted Esmeth as saying: "I don't care if we never sell another record. Our records are not our forte"
