The Role of Pre-Registration in Clinical Trials
In a lot of cases though, it's peer review was forced in the hand going. I've never been particularly excited about the formal mechanisms of pre-registration outside of registered reports. There is straightforward criticism of it that is published in a real journal by obviously real competent people that should be going in as well. And there's absolutely no question whatsoever that the pre-reg registration of clinical trials still permits an astonishing amount of collective dodginess.
