The Importance of Proper Fluid Resuscitation
Multiple studies have shown that patients who get are able to maintain an even fluid balance, perioperatively do better. In ARDS, clearly the drier the patient can be and still be heaping dynamically stable, the better they do. It's really important for all comers in the ICU, for septic patients, for ARDS patients, and probably for any patient coming to the operating room with us that we not overdo their fluid resuscitation.
