Rawls Depends on Taxation, Right?
John Rawls would depend on taxation, right? So how do you going to pull that off? It doesn't go the same objections that you raise to Piketty. He imagines a much more burdensome progressive tax designed to redistribute income from rich to poor. Um, he also thinks that there ought to be,. um, a quite burdensome tax on bequests and inheritances because of intergenerational transmission of wealth.
