The Advantages of Observing High Redshift Galaxies From the Early Universe
Jwst can only see the very bright galaxies right even though it has a much better sensitivity that we've had before. The super faint objects which are probably numerous at that time were actually very important in this process of reionizing the universe Right so when i said pencil beam that was incorrect you're really casting a much wider net when you do line intensity mapping because like you say we don't think it was the brightest most luminous galaxies which is what observatories like jwst are most sensitive to. When we add all these signatures up we can learn something about what is the universe like on average at this very early time beyond where we can resolve individual objects individual stars and
