Well Structured Problems Are Hard to Teach and Hard to Grade

Every writing problem is ill structure. School really likes well structure problems because they're so much easier to assess. Constructing the form of the essay, rather than encouraging students to focus on the content of their argument, becomes the goal itself. Writing was not something we emphasized in education until the late 18 hundreds. And then as soon as we did, we decided that young people were stupid for not having learned what we did not teach them.
