Is Dead Lines Really Effective?

i was thinking a lot about the video production over the past few years and realizing that i had slowly started to work myself into a position where things were just unclear. I'd had a bunch of projects that were becoming bigger and over a longer scope in time. So what i was trying to do is have advertiser dead lines that we're way far in the future, with the idea that leke, well, i can't possibly miss a dead line at six months from now.
