The Three Over Four Relationship Between Drift and Swing
When you play straight sixteenth notes on a drum kit and everything is on the sixteenth notes, and it's perfect. It's kind of like playing all octaves. Like everything lines up perfectly. But then when you throw in a triplet, you know, the John Bonham drum fill, just to bring him back,. That's the three over four ratio, which is the perfect fifth. You can do it inversely too if you have two oscillators that are playing a perfect fifth. And I think that's beautiful kind of transcendental math to look at.
