The song is a reference to their previous album Fakebook, which was all acoustic covers. I think they just recorded it as like a warm up in the studio And they liked it so much that they decided to throw it on to the album So I don't think they're throwing any shade here, but I do like making fun of the Jesus and Mary chain Yeah, well this one, it did wind up leading off an EP They released a little Honda EP, which is a brief covers EP It's worth your time, it's got By the time it gets dark by Sandy Denny, and I feel like there's a Trog song, but I can't remember which one.
