Kirsten Gillibrand is leaving the Democratic Party to run as an independent. CNN's John Sutter says she was being a good team player by waiting until after the election before deciding whether or not to caucus with Democrats. She could have blown up their power structure had she decided to caucus with Republicans, he says. But in that way, "I don't see this as a big FU to the Democrats at all," Sutter says.
