The Internalizations of Parental Guidance in Capitalism

The nonverbal and verbal guidance we receive in childhood from our parents is always to some degree aligned with the social or the culture within which they occur. In capitalist societies, you get ahead by defining yourself in contrast,. You differentiate yourself from other people because you are in a competitive landscape. And so another message that comes across with this is if we struggle in the world, it's our fault, not an indictment on the society as a whole.
