The Importance of Language in Learning
Teachers are encouraging the students to engage in this two way dialogue not only with the teacher but with students asking questions, listening, engaging this back and forth of idea. This natural thing that starts to emerge we have all this linguistic noise around us which is what Thumbry calls emergence or emergent language. So really it comes down to the key, the key focus on interaction. It's only as Leo said, it's only through authentic interaction for authentic purposes that we can actually use the language.
