As a black woman in the relationship, you had to be on the lookout for all of those microaggressions. And Peter wouldn't even notice them. Did that make you feel alone? Yes. It made me feel so angry. I was pissed off because it was almost like he could do no right in that. If I called it out and he tried to dismiss it, like, that's no big deal. There was a time when we went to Ghana together. His first visit, he was thrilled. The running joke was that every morning, we would wake up and Peter would be gone. He'd just be out in the street. But later on, we go find him
