Lula, the Former President of Brazil, Is Out of Prison

Lula had spent 580 days in prison. He was actually freed on what might seem like a technicality, because the supreme court decided that he could not be jailed until they had exhausted all their appeals. But over the next two years, top courts would toss out one case after the next against lula for a variety of reasons. In fact, of te more than two dozen cases of alleged corruption against lula, all of them have been scrapped,. clearing the former president's way to run in this year's election.
