Affirmative action programs have become standard practice, although not without controversy. How would such a programm work for housing? Consider levett town, which was built just after world war two as a fordable housing for the families of veterans. The federal government should perhaps be buying up homes in levett town at market rates when they come for sale and reselling them to african americans at the price that their ancestors would have been able to purchase those homes for.
