The Earning Surprise
The question around the earning surprise and whether this is going to be something that becomes a pattern is really the main theme I keep hearing from people. Even though we still see a lot of dire economic forecasts, effectively economists have a starting a recession in just a few days in the third quarter. That would be the key source of downside surprise if we don't see those earnings materialized. We're watching the margins really closely because inflation has been actually very good for margins. It's why we think we got to record margins in 2021 and early 2022.
