And also, because culturally they were really interested in dualities,. and having a nice mirrored duality was really appealing to them for sort of aesthetic reasons. You get this really interesting descriptive grammar that was published in 18 98 by china's first grammarian, mad jang song - called mister ma's complete grammar.
