"This is going to come way out of left field. I'm going to get so much shit about this later from beta check," says Carter on his first meeting with Steve in the Mac Lab. "Steve immediately starts sizing him up and he's got a, we talked to him, but he has this weird wristband on and I ask him about it... And he says to me, he got it from a witch doctor, you know, and it keeps him safe." The two boys meet Peter Phillips, the man who will oversee the experiments which will come to be known as the Mac lab. This is the first moment they are actually alone, completely alone, no prying eyes.
