What Are the Differences Between Haudenosaunee and Native Women?
Haudenosaunee society, on the other hand, was organized to maintain a balance of equality between women and men. Women hold key political offices, e.g. clan mothers. Husbands have legal right and religious responsibility to physically discipline wives. Each woman controls her own personal property. No female in the Godhead. And women are excluded from political office. Also, they can't vote while Haudenosaunees are the ones to choose their chief.
