Eruption could have occurred during period when a group that we call the hicos were ruling in egypt. If it dates where people have conventionally thought, and much of the field still insists it must date, because the science must be wrong. So this is why it seemed to become really important to decide what was going on. In some senses, this gives the new revision that the radio carbon dating is perhaps not quite as old as we thought. But even so, all the possible dates remain before the beginning of the eighteenth dynasty from the radio carbon. Eighteenth dynasty begins about 15 50 according to historical analysis. Nobody goes much before 15 60, if anything, not many go beyond
