The History of the L D P

The l d p was formed out of a political alliance between two conservative parties, the liberals and the democrats. For a very long time, patronage within these factions was pretty much the only vehicle for advancement in the party at all. The difference is that unlike a lot of other political parties, l d p factions are not, generally speaking, very ideological. They're driven largely by personal politics between major leaders.
