The Servant of the Lord in the Servant Songs of Isaiah
The Servant of the Lord is a second Moses figure in Isaiah. In verse 10, Isaiah says, sing to the Lord a new song. So what's the old song? Well, we find out in verses 15 and 16. God speaking on behalf of his people, he says, I lay waste to the mountains and hills; wither all their vegetation. And so here's the perspective that I think makes most sense of this passage, and it's a beautiful truth.
