The Importance of Time Travel

One of the themes in at least a couple of the stories in Exhalation have to do with time travel and the deep personal issues that come from thinking about time travel. If you were to time travel back to an earlier point in your career or your childhood, are there things that you would like to tell your earlier self? No, I don't think so. That's an entirely different scenario because I was not visited by an older version of myself when I was young.
