I Think It's an Irony That We Have Within the Way That We Think About Our Elected Officials

When a social movement gets some uptake from more official representative inst tons or advocacy groups, it can get a better foothold. This isn't exactly what you meant, but it's kind of a conundrum that i think a lot about how we think about our elected officials. If they are genuine and standing up for something that they believe, but it conflicts with what we want them to do, then we're all a sudden angry at them for not representing us. But on the other hand, if all they do is follow public opinion and it looks like they don't stand for anything, then we’re upset at them fornot being genuine. It's an irony that we have within the
