The Dog With the Funny Jackets

I think we're meant to read it as an abandoned railway track. And they get up to various, they're definitely scamps. They have a special joke about trying to get people to walk into lampposts by distracting them at a critical moment. Which leads to the funniest one which is a woman criticising a very posh boy because he was walking by at the same time that she was back ended by a guy in enormous lorry. Because old France isn't going to win but somehow modern France must learn some sort of important lesson from it.
