Edward Kleinbard: Is it like necessary that we have inflation for the functioning of society and kind of white parts of the debt every so often? Like, what would you do without inflation? What's your take on this? He says there are a number of ways in which inflation will benefit quite large and influential sectors in society. Kleinbard: I think once inflation has done its tricks, say, paying down the debt, then it becomes unpopular with a broader and broader section of the population until at a certain point the political will is there to bring inflation to an end.
