The Importance of Contact in Cardioversion
The worse the contact between your sticky pad and the patient's skin, the more impedance there will be to electrical flow. So it's just something to think about, especially if you're like a very diaphoretic patient or some kind of just skin factors where you're really having trouble with pads. You do want to make sure you're not going to shock yourself, of course. There was some literature suggesting that even shocking during chest compressions is safe-ish but it's only ish.
