The Importance of Equity and Liberation

I like to use the phrase generative discomfort, which I think is the space where real change happens. In that view, kind of already equity for those who are a part of the dominant culture means opening to more discomfort,. Not everyone is maybe on board for it but if we move beyond equity to liberation, then we're talking about breaking free from the systems themselves. We say our work is about black liberation because it's really clear. And it's either you believe in black liberation. You believe in what many scholars of intersectionality and other fields talk about: If you center queer, trans, disabled, working class, black perspectives, everybody gets free. This idea has steeped so deeply
