Is SVB Really Wrong?
There may be other regional banks that similarly mismanaged their interest rate risk we don't know all of the details. Corporate treasurers asking themselves do I really want to have money in deposit accounts any longer why shouldn't I take the excess cash that I've got and sweep it into a money market fund? It'll earn a higher yield to begin with and it will be protected because if it's invested in treasuries and agencies it has the backing of the US government this is not going to be a serious issue in the short run.
