The Effect of the Mutiny on the American Navy
The mutiny did not involve very much violence, if any at all. Many of the officers were at least somewhat sympathetic to the concerns of the sailors. The men sat on the upper deck playing euchars, dominoes, darts and kept brewing up tea by the gallon. There were no threats or intimidation. In the war-spite, the officers were quite in sympathy with us.
