The Fed's Argument for Normalized Interest Rate Environment
The Fed has argued coming out of work from John Gilems for a long time that that natural interest rate of interest has been depressed and became very low. The liberal Grounter says that yeah secular stagnation yet if you look now in the markets the markets are saying real interest rates are going to be positive at a significant level for the next decade. We got as high as 1.7 percent that was maybe a bit high we were around one and a quarter percent at the end of last week.
