Newton's Principles of Reasoning and Philosophy

Newton's philosophy of science was important in igniting the Enlightenment. Nowhere is this laid down more clearly than in Book 3 of the Principia. Descartes denied that any true judgment could be made of the wax, not even that it was a single body on the basis of sense perception alone. But since we perceive extension in all that we perceive by the senses, we thrive at universally to all others also.
